Picture Day

I hope everyone enjoy the unexpected fog day yesterday. The poor Life Touch Photo company people were already here and set up to take the children's pictures before the day was called off. They were very gracious and rescheduled for March 23rd.

Pancake Dinner

Thank you to everyone who attended the pancake dinner! Due to your generosity we collected $1.016 for the Bedford Relay for Life. The Bedford Relay for Life will be held on May 15-16, 2010.

Spelling Bee

Congratulations to sixth grade student Lily K. and fifth grade student Kinsey S. for being the winner and runner up of the Smith Road Spelling Bee. Lily will be invited to compete in the Monroe County Spelling Bee in May.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration begins Tuesday, February 16, 2010. If you have a child who will be five years old by Dec. 1, 2010, he/she is eligible to start kindergarten next September. In order to register please bring the following documents to the SRE office:

• Original Birth Certificate


• Immunization Records


• Vision Screening Records


• Current Michigan Drivers License


• Gas, Water, or Electric Bill


• Custody Decree (if you have one)

This Week at SRE

• The Bedford High School Media Team will be filming at SRE on Tuesday. This informational video will be previewed at the Bedford Trade Fair on March 6-7, 2010.
• The hundreth day of school is Wednesday. Each classroom will be doing a variety of activities to mark this special day.
• Valentine's Day will be celebrated on Friday afternoon. This is one of the few days each year that treats are welcome.
